On the Board

The atmosphere oon the bus was always cheerful and amusing. The main activity was to take coffee from the coffee machine situated on the first floor of the bus. During our journey we drank more then 300 cups of coffee. On the first floor there were also card games. Also the second floor was characterises by an amusing atmosphere: we had a good guitarist who accompanied the songs of some partecipants. If you click on the file beneath, you can hear one of the first exibisions on the road from Kalambaka to Thessaloniki, the song is, obviously dedicated to the Greece.

Sirtaki

Even if the age’s average of the group was not low, the spirit was very youthful and in certain moments, the group in certain moments could easily contend with a high school excursion. Here is the proof!

A trip is good in itself, especially if you are visiting the place for the first time. But if you are traveling in a group, with many other people, the journey can be even more beautiful. I hardly knew any of the participants; we were about 50. I'm not very social and I don't participate in community events where I live. To travel 3000 kilometers by bus it takes more than 50 hours of travel, given the prevalence of secondary roads, and can also be quite boring. But in company, time passes faster. I made good friends with the people on board and there was a nice atmosphere, very friendly. There was a civil engineer, like me, who works for the Milanese metro, while I work for the railways. We found a common interest and spent hours discussing the speed of trains, their functionality and the differences between a normal train and a metro train.

As you can also see from the material provided above, we often sang, joked and entertained together. Thus the kilometers passed faster and time flew by. Sometimes we seemed to arrive at our destination in the blink of an eye, even if the journey lasted a few hundred kilometers.
